Heres a recap of the the gameplay overview from www.asymgame.com

Let us know if the gametype sounds fun, why and why not.

Overview

In Asym society, computer AI controls much of the day-to-day activity in citizens’ lives. Communications, transportation, and teleportation are just a few of the many duties performed by AI systems all over PLANETA. In order for AIs to coordinate activities, a series of localized network communication modules are located around all urban centers, points of interest, etc. During time of war, AI has proven itself an invaluable resource. Assault forces drop in using AI controlled dropships, rely on AI-controlled perimeter defenses, and work with AI to counteract the efforts of enemy troops. During an engagement between J-K and Arc forces, network control is the major objective to achieve victory.

It’s the standard AI procedure to communicate and control all surrounding network modules upon landing at a specified site. Since all forces are aware of this procedure, all network mainframes have access locked out behind a firewall. Due to the heightened threat of war, mainframe access is blocked from friend and foe alike.
Objectives

Take the majority of mainframe modules in order to deactivate the opponents defenses and destroy their AI.
Important Structures

MainframeMainframe - Each mainframe module is an uplink station that communicates with rest of the surrounding network. Within each station is one mainframe unit, one human teleporter, and at least one communication tower. In order to gain control of a mainframe module, a player must hack the firewall by placing a firewall disruption hackbox on the mainframe. This allows AI to take control of the station and activate its teleporter for quick access to and from the mainframe and the armory.

TeleporterTeleporter - A teleporter provides a means to quickly move around on the field of battle. Squad movement is often times the difference maker between victory and defeat. There are two types of teleporters in Asym, ovedrite and human. Human teleporters are small and require one mainframe to power them. Ovedrite teleporters are much larger and consume more power. Two mainframes are required to power Ovedrite teleporters. Due to complex physiology, Kovans cannot use teleporters.

(Note — human teleporters are found in armories and in mainframe modules while ovedrite teleporters are more rare and are usually housed near key points in the area)

ArmoryArmory - The armory acts as field headquarters for an attacking force. Before touching down, unmanned drop turrets are deployed to setup a perimeter defense and clear out hostiles in the area. The armory houses the main AI, all health/weapon centers and teleport systems (inactive until mainframe modules or key points are taken). The amory is the final objective for the enemy so it must be defended at all costs.
Victory Conditions

- Network control is a must for a team to win. The network modules are not linked so any combination of modules adding up to majority will deactivate enemy defenses. This means that holding a module is just as (if not more) important as capturing one.
- Team Play: Asym is setup to be a squad-based team game. By strategizing and working together, a team has a much better chance of winning than an unorganized team.
- Check the Score: Mainframe modules count for 1 point where as Ovedrite teleport keypoints are worth 2. Keep this in mind because network control can swing in an instant.
Leveling Your Character

As you play Asym, you will gain experience. Once you have reached a new level your player will be given attribute points and occasionally a skill point. Attribute points can be allotted into 4 areas; Strength, Dexterity, Speed, and Reflex. Skill points have attribute requirements that must be satisfied. Players use skill points to add new weapons to their arsenal, gain hit points, learn new techniques, etc.

Experience - Experience is the means for gaining levels and upgrading a character. A player gains experience by playing the game and by performing certain actions to help the team achieve victory. Experience rewards are based on both squad and individual actions and are also different for different species/classes.
