Hello, hello. Just wanted to make a post to inform you, the websurfer, that we just finished a re-design of our website. We’ll be switching to another URL shortly but worry not — grade440.com should still redirect to the new site. That is all. Thank you.
Our gallery is now working better than ever… but sadly, due to our inept web provider we are still missing a few of the old images. They should be uploaded soon.
[UPDATE]
Our site is now being hosted at www.asymgame.com. If you are reading this… you might’ve already figured that out.

Jason has been working diligently on a mass-transport vehicle for the game and now we can show you a near-complete version of it. The troop transport is operated by one driver and can hold several human and kovan soldiers in the main bay. Players can simply jump into the transport without “entering” it like they would most vehicles in Unreal Tournament. The driver controls the gull-wing doors which allow the players to fire from the transport freely — essentially making our first vehicle a rolling pillbox!

For the past few days I’ve been working on putting together a HUD (Heads Up Display) for our game. The idea is to have an attractive-looking interface that does not interfere too much with gameplay. There is a lot of important information the player will need during the action so we want to make sure to provide that, but not in a way that is distracting or overwhelming. The majority of the HUD is very translucent. Players will be able to see graphics underneath the various shapes and symbols though the important information will be left opaque. A little tweaking is needed before it’s complete, but it should be finished soon.

Well IDEASfest is over and I must say that this year’s group of entries were amazing. IDEAS has always had great work submitted, but this year takes the cake for being the best work that has ever been submitted. I can’t wait to see what is submitted next year! Check our booth here!
For our entry we did a ton of work getting our main level into working order, complete with static meshes, finished terrain, updated textures, working game scripts, and sounds both gameplay related and ambient. Overall, we have come a long way in the past 2 weeks to get the project to where it is.
I have posted some shots of our level in the screenshots section of our image gallery.
