Earth

In the distant future, the Human race had nearly destroyed their home, Earth. Due to global abuse and poor management of Earth’s precious resources, the world had become nearly uninhabitable. After predictions came that the Earth had less than 50 years of resources to sustain human life, societies all united under the common cause of survival. Unfortunately, the space program was vastly underdeveloped and did not have the capacity to support a mass exodus from the exhausted world. Seeing no alternatives, the global government resorted to sending distress signals into space.

An Answer Comes

After a couple of decades with nothing but occasional static from the far reaches of space, mankind had forgotten about the possibility of salvation. Cities not suffering from famine or pollution simply waited to be overtaken by refugees from less fortunate areas. Nearly thirty years after sending the first galactic plea for help, humans made contact. A society of large rock-like people, Ovedrites (Oh-VUH-drites), came to the aid of the human race. After attempting to save the existing human home, ovedrites and humans decided that there was no way to save Earth. Exploration parties and unmanned probes began to scour the universe looking for a suitable home where ovedrites and humans could settle. Finally, within 10 years of the estimated end to Earth’s habitablity, a planet was discovered.

PLANETA and The Great Migration

Frantically, the ovedrite and human peoples banded together to emmigrate to the new planet named, PLANETA after its designation on the star chart: Planet-A of sector 836. Emmigration from Earth was a time consuming process, but was completed just in time, due to the diligence of both peoples working together.

Kovans

During the migration, one of the final convoys was confronted by a giant armada of reptilian humanoids. Tensions were high until the species met and discovered that the Kovan people had been traveling through space looking for a home ever since their home planet was destroyed due to tectonic instabilities caused by a shift in the planets orbit. (It is thought that ovedrite society met with similar fate, although it is merely speculation because its a sensitive subject, and is not discussed)

Feeling that all three species could cohabitate together it was decided that their peoples would all live harmoniously on PLANETA.
